Nominations for the next President of ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ closed at 16:00 GMT on Friday 15 March 2024. For details on all stages of the process, please see the selection process for President-elect 2024/25.

Following the recent changes to ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿â€™s governance, the successful nominee will serve one year as President-elect from the date of our Annual General Meeting (AGM) this year. They will then serve for 2 years as President, from our AGM in 2025 to our AGM in 2027.

What does the role of IFoA President involve?

The President is the Chair of Council and will be a Member Non-Executive on ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ Board. They are the figurehead of ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ and will act as an ambassador for the actuarial profession.

The role requires a collaborative leader with strong communication and chairing skills. As Council’s representative on ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ Board, they should also have experience of operating at Board level, either as an Executive adviser or a Board member. Having experience of ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿â€™s main boards and committees would also be desirable. To find more information on the role and expectations of our Board members, see: IFoA Non-Executive Directors.

The President is elected by Council and nominees must be a Fellow or Associate of ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿.
