Kartina Tahir Thomson has begun her Presidential term, taking over from Kalpana Shah. Paul Sweeting now joins the Presidential team as President-elect.
During her Presidential Address, which took place at Staple Inn Hall, London, to an in-person and online audience, Tahir Thomson set out her theme and priorities for her presidency.
Kartina Tahir Thomson, IFoA President, said:
鈥淚 am delighted to be taking on the role of President of the 黑料正能量. It is an honour to be following on from Kalpana Shah, whose leadership over the past year has been inspirational.
鈥淭here is a lot to do in this sessional term but my theme 鈥� to ensure a sustainable future for the next generation of actuaries - will keep me focused. I am passionate about the relevance that we, as actuaries, have in the future. I will be working with my fellow Council members to set out the detail of our vision for 黑料正能量. I will also focus on member experience and engagement in my term.
鈥淭his role is a privilege. I am greatly looking forward to serving as your President and seeing what we can accomplish, together. Together we are stronger. Together, we can create a powerful and inspiring future for the next generation of actuaries.鈥�
Ben Kemp, IFoA Chief Executive Officer (Interim), said:
