This free two-part webinar series, on 10 and 18 September, explores the principles behind graduating mortality base tables, bridging theoretical foundations with practical application.

  • data requirements (both volume and quality)
  • pros and cons of graduation, compared to alternative approaches 
  • principles underpinning typical graduation techniques
  • practical tips to help produce robust and reliable mortality tables
  • effective communication with data providers and table users, to foster understanding and acceptance of the tables published

The series is designed for actuaries, analysts, researchers and others with an interest in learning more about how mortality base tables can be produced. 

It offers a balanced perspective on ensuring statistical integrity while meeting practical needs in insurance, pensions, and demographic analysis.
